Universal supports for all youth occur through nurturing and responsive relationships and high-quality environments and are essential to healthy social development. Presentations will be provided to youth and parents, and information will be disseminated through flyers, brochures, and social media.
Secondary prevention services include targeted social-emotional strategies that support youth at risk of challenging behavior and mental health challenges. This can include instruction and support in assisting youth in self-regulation, expressing and understanding their emotions, developing social relationships, and positive decision-making and problem-solving behaviors. SCAN will use evidence-based curriculums to work with students.
Tertiary intervention and behavioral health treatment is comprised of practices related to individualized intensive interventions that address the behavioral health concerns of youth who are experiencing significant distress and impaired functioning. These practices include the creation of referral pathways to mental health and other appropriate service providers. SCAN will use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to work with students.
